A Fort Dodge resident was enjoying a warm summer evening, working in her yard when she noticed an unfamiliar man walking down the street pushing a lawn mower. This looked odd so she continued observing him as he walked closer. Pretty soon, he came to a basketball hoop that sat on the curb in front of her neighbor’s home. Community policing is nothing new to Fort Dodge/Webster County. By being visible in the community, not only is our law enforcement team deterring criminal activity, but they are developing positive relationships with both the adults and children of Webster County alike. They are committed to being strong leaders and positive role models.
